Wesley: Feng Shui. Gunn: Right. What's that mean again? Wesley: That people will believe anything. Actually, in this place, Feng Shui will probably have enormous significance. I'll align my furniture the wrong way and suddenly catch fire or turn into a pudding.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Don't they forbid that sort of thing?

Maybe they should try the door-to-door thing without the shirts.

I'd certainly be more inclined to invite them in. Less to take off ;)

not your mom's socks.

Calli - good test~biopsy~ma!

I just got a call from their attorney, asking me if we'd hand over the keys in exchange for half a month's rent.

no, but you can have this nicely ticking kerfuffle bunny and a cluestick. How about we hand over the keys for a damage waiver, our 1/2 month's rent, a rush fee for vacating, and - oh, I don't know - payment for the number of hours we've spent going over and over this with you? Raq - likely you won't need them, but won't some nice time-stamped photos of the rental, inside and out, be a lovely memento?

over in my-part-time-job-drama: guess who got an email from her boss of 10 years asking "what days are you now working again?" ... at 6pm, on non-work gmail?? Which was followed at 7:30pm by a "we should likely have one of our conversations on Wednesday - when's good for you?" again on non-work gmail. I'm treating the whole thing as an urgent need and scheduling a phone conversation for tomorrow morning - and if I get "oh calm down, it isn't that big of a deal," then I will politely ask them not to use my non-work contacts, especially after hours, unless there is an emergency. My guess? Two weeks into it and they don't like the new arrangement. Not one bit.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Oh, now I think that's fabulous.

Not that Mormons impinge particularly on my landscape, being essentially an American cracktastic cult religion (I mean, if you're looking for them you can find them everywhere, 'cause of that whole missionary deal, but they're generally a tiny wee esoteric minority).

Still, I heartily approve of the exploitation of hot and primly-dressed boys of a religious disposition. It's like Catholic schoolgirls in reverse, or something.

Raq, I'm gobsmacked by your experience with these people. My vocabulary fails me. Yay for the friendly neighbours, though. (That kind of overt friendliness would make my head explode too.)

Now I knew I liked Fay for a reason...

::headdesk::

email #3 - 10:15pm - "it's not a big deal. can we schedule a conversation for Wednesday morning or Thursday morning?"

on gmail again (because I'm being good and not checking my work email on off hours, and they know it).

I know this sounds nuts to everyone - and I'm sure I'm coming off as a slacker or a whiner or both. but I feel like I'm trying to gracefully exit a really unhealthy work situation (10 pm, seriously? To passively schedule a meeting?) slowly so that they have time to transition (and yeah, to cut myself some financial slack too), and the fact that they have basically shifted the crazy from my work email to my personal email accounts is making me nuts. It is worse because I am friends with these people and care about them - and also that I just used my last cluestick on Raq's people.

Confused, frustrated, and completely tense and wishing for some job stability that didn't soulsuck. And guilty for complaining when I know that I'm lucky to have a job.

I want to be eve from Wall-E and just blow shit up right now.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I want to be eve from Wall-E and just blow shit up right now.

This would solve many issues, especially in the work place.

It's exhausting raising a Diva. Seriously. But first day of Camp Broadway was a raging success. I'm liable to have the score to Bye Bye Birdie memorized by the end of the day, but seriously, this camp kicks major ass.

Had lunch with lovely new agent person.

Visited Mecca, i.e. the redesigned shoe department at Saks. The one that has its own zip code and express elevator. Came out with smokin' hot black suede pumps, on sale, even.

Have skipped ahead many messages, so I'm offering ~ma, gropes, and cuddles to all that wants.

  • faceplants some more*

no, you are not being a slacker or a whiner. It is not unreasonable to expect that your office use the established method of communication for you. If I were you, I would not acknowledge emails or calls to personal emails or phones.
