I can hurt a demon!! That's right. I'm back. And I'm a BLOODY ANIMAL!

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I grew up with dogs - they were Not my sisters. they were members of the family, but they were dogs. My cat , might get called my furry baby, but Percy is a cat and part of the fun of referring to him as a furry baby is because he is not a baby. and , although this is anthropomorphizing , I think he would be insulted if he understood.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I've always thought dogs work really really hard to earn human status. Witness a dog in a car with two people. If the passenger gets out, the dog will climb into the beta spot, if allowed. If both passenger and driver get out, the dog moves into alpha position. Always looking to move up in status.

Cats, on the other hand I believe, view us as loud, clumsy, inept and smelly failures at being feline. They only tolerate us because of our opposable thumbs, which make possible the use of can opener and refrigerator door. Cats, when not motivated by their stomachs, will occasionally attempt to groom us or engage us in play, much like parents with bumbling children. Otherwise, they tend to ignore us with benign indifference. They have no wish to be human, nor to move up in status since they clearly are at the apex within the household.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Harvey the cat is sitting next to me as I type this, not really expecting much, but enjoying it when I do stop and pet him.

Not sure it proves or disproves Beverly's hypothesis. heh.

brillig

Yes, cats want us to be cats with them. Amon looks at me in the morning as I head out the door with "Why are you leaving? There's a bed to snuggle in! Bring your hand back here and skritch me some more, and I'll wrap my legs around your arm, and we won't move for several hours."

So did you decide to be Cordelian or Regan&Gonerilian in your suckage?
