[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

surgery~ma to your mom, sj.

Kristin, my thoughts go out to your family. Also, it's just sad when we lose another good one.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks for all the ~ma. I’m sitting here waiting for news on Mom’s surgery.

Kristin, ~ma for your dad. I’m sorry for his loss.

Lots of surgery and recovery~ma to your mother, sj, and lots of general coping~ma to you, because it's got to be so stressful for you too. (Also, I've been keeping the moving-in-smoothly~ma headed east, because the whole moving in process definitely doesn't end on moving day.)

Aww, thank you. I appreciate that. You’re very right; the move is far from over. I’m hoping I can get a few things done every day this week. Last week was mostly catching up on sleep from the stress of moving day and the physical stress of packing, so not much got done.

sj, tons of surgery ~ma for your mom. If you need/want a distraction while you're waiting for news, feel free to call me. {{{you}}}

Thanks, Nicole. Let me know when you’re up and I’ll give you a call.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sympathies to your dad, Kristin, and to Mr. Pollack's other friends and loved ones, as well as to all the world who loved his movies. The world's a little dimmer tonight.

This, so very much this.

Mom's out of surgery and doing well! I hope she doesn't get too sick from the anesthesia, she's very sensitive to it.

That's great news, sj! I'm the same way with anesthesia, but they've really come a long ways with what they can give you before the anesthesia. I hope she tolerates it well.

In things-I-will-not-say:

Dear ComStu Prof,

You're teaching a course in information technology and communications, which will focus a lot on how the Internet has affected social communication. And you use AOL for your e-mail? Are you serious? Is that some kind of joke that we're supposed to question you about? Because, honestly, it really makes me wonder if you're qualified to teach this course.

no love,
vw
