I really want lobster now. Maybe my palate will be appeased with Hunan shrimp.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yesterday, new office was loud, making me pine for my iPod (which is somewhere, just not sure where - it has been seen in the new apartment). Today - it is deader than a doornail and cemetery quiet. Bored. Bored. Bored.
I moved cubes to be further from my micro-managing boss. The only downside so far is that now I'm much closer to the loud, chatty person in the office.
Buffy Chosen Collection should be on sale here in a few minutes in the Amazon Lightning deals for anyone who has wanted it, but has waited for it to come out on the cheap.
Does that sound like allergies, even though I've never had this as an allergy symptom before, or should I call my doctor?
Susan, my allergy related coughs all seem to be due to post-nasal drip. But I think in your shoes, I would adopt a watch-and-wait attitude. While I. Do. NOT. Mess. With coughs, one of my bench marks for calling in the pros is sleeping through the night.
Which is not at all to say that you should listen to me, because we are all different.
Sorry, I guess that was spectacularly unhelpful.
OK nevermind, it sold out in 2 mins. Luckily I got mine.
Anyone for a field trip to the Kirkpinar Oil Wrestling Tournament?
Wearing only a pair of leather trousers and a good slick of olive oil, competitors pair off and struggle to gain a grip on their opponent, before one is flipped over and pinned to the ground. The winner goes on to fight another winner, and so on, until there is only one wrestler left standing. The whole tournament can take days.
OK, doctor thinks it's probably viral. She wants me to increase fluids and try saline gargles, maybe try DayQuil/NyQuil on top of the Claritin I'm already taking, vitamin C and zinc wouldn't hurt. And if I'm not improving by Thursday, I'm to call them first thing so they can get me in.
Oh, today was supposed to be Happy Stock Transfer Day for Casa W. Only a manager from either the broker or the accountant missed the meeting yesterday to deal with the paperwork, because he'd been in meetings all day and didn't want to deal with another one. And the transfer can't happen w/o his signature.
Grrr. Asshole. You know *he'd* be outraged if he didn't get something due him in a timely manner because someone couldn't be assed to sign his name. Maybe it's because I'm a lowly little peon, but insofar as my job involves making sure people in my dept. are paid and/or reimbursed, that's one of my highest priorities.
The details may be frustrating, Susan, but it's pretty fantastic to be getting an inheritance. Maybe try to focus on that?
