'Sleeper'

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I haven't even made it out of the yoga pants and t-shirt I slept in, so you're all doing a lot better than me.

I haven't made it out of the nothing I slept in! Or indeed into the shower yet. Um. But I HAVE made and consumed tarragon creamed mushrooms with chicken, accompanied by a slice of honeydew melon and a cup of black vanilla chai.

Yum!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Toto just stole Molly's pill pocket with her hypothyroid meds. Our vet (both Molly and Toto's) is closed, and none of the emergency vets will help me. They just keep saying to call poison control, which is $60, and I don't have $60.

And I can't find helpful info online. I'm in tears and so frustrated. I don't know what to do.

Remind me, bug, Molly is a cat? Do you remember the specific meds, and what are her approx weight and Toto's?

IANAV, but an overdose of thyroid supplements in dogs usually takes days to weeks to become apparent when the dog is on the meds; that implies to me that a one-time dose isn't likely to be toxic -- it's something that builds up over time.

If he's showing any symptoms of illness, it won't hurt to induce vomiting, but I really doubt it's going to be more than a watch/wait/call the vet tomorrow to check in situation.

Molly is a huge dog, which is really more the reason I'm worried. I'm worried that it's MUCH too high of a dose for him.

The med is Soloxine 0.8 mg. I have no idea Molly's weight--at least 60 pounds...I'd guess more. And Toto's under 20.

I just talked to Molly's mom. Molly's "brother" has done the same thing as Toto did, and he's fine. So, I'm going to just wait and see. Blech. That was a few minutes of stress I didn't need.

that implies to me that a one-time dose isn't likely to be toxic

This is good to know. Thank you.

I'm not sure where I got cat from, sorry! -- that's definitely more than a Toto-sized dose of Soloxine, but the part about it building up over time stands. Keep an eye out anyway, but I'm glad you were able to get some reassurance from Molly's peeps.

Oh, yeah. Toto's dosage of that med would be .2 mg. Eek. I'm just gonna watch him and try to get him to drink a lot of water and not stress. HA! Me, not stress? Right!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I am wearing a sarong wrapped like a towel. I woke up at 5:30. But then, I fell asleep at 7 am.

I think my neighbor with the internet connection I've been...privateering maybe moved out, so I haven't had internet for a couple of days. I did some contortions and I have an extremely weak internet connection.

Wow, there are a dearth of English teacher jobs availble. I am getting NER-vous. I am supposed to hear from the job I interviewed for last week by the end of this week, and I hope I get it. I haven't even had a nibble from anyone else.

I just applied for a creative writing English teacher position at a local high school. I've had 2 creative writing classes, and written 1/4 of 2 unpublished novels and a bunch of depressing poetry. But I applied. It would be fun, but stressful, and I would feel like a BIG FAT FAKE.

I have achieved cleanliness and clothing! Go me! Today's ensemble consists of bright turquoise cotton trousers, a chocolate tunic with turquoise and scarlet embroidery (er, and copper coloured sequins, for that Really Understated look), chocolate ballet flats, a turquoise-and-copper ring and turquoise MAC liquilast eyeliner.

Oh! And a handbag I bought in Delhi, made out of bright, much embroidered turquoise sari fabric.
