Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, vw.

The electrician is here. He had to shut off the electricity. Luckily, I still have the cellphone.

All is well that ends in pizza.

OMG, how much do I want an icecream ball? Lots lots lots lots lots!

I bet your students would be interested, too.

I wonder if they are easily available in your neck of the planet.

I searched for the term "Ice Cream Ball" and found them for as little as $20 in the US.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I bet your students would be interested, too.

Me too!

I wonder if they are easily available in your neck of the planet.

I'm going to go with a no.

However, my friend is visiting from the UK in 2 weeks' time. If I can find them in the UK, it might be doable...

Meanwhile, this evening my friend Steve (my fellow geek at school, who's going to be leaving Thailand with his wife & awesome daughter in a couple of weeks to take up a post in the Philippines, sadly) and his lovely wife & daughter took me out for dinner, to say thank you for teaching said daughter. (Who is an absolute DOLL. And Steve's busily training her up to be a geek. A pretty, girly, Barbie-loving, sporty kind of geek. She's a big Doctor Who fan now, thanks to me, and he's raising her on Star Wars and all that malarky. It's v. cute.) Anyway, in addition to a TOTALLY SCRUMPTIOUS Thai dinner in a fab little village-style restaurant with Thai band & dancers, my evening included my first introduction to the Wii.

...yeah. I know what I'm getting myself for my birthday now, and it's NOT an iPhone after all. This is a much better idea.

The electricians are still here. I don't really want to pack while they're here. I'm paranoid like that.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, yeah. I totally get that, sj.

I'm out at the house where I'm house sitting. I can't wait to jump in the pool! Although, four dogs are A LOT of dogs together. Fortunately, one of them is going home on Thursday. Three will be more manageable...especially since it's those three that know each other really well.

They just left! They were here for four hours, but they fixed everything that needed fixing, so I'm not going to complain.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Speech outline completed. Now I need to make my two notecards that are allowable and practice B.S.-ing for 5-6 minutes.

Cashmere, I've now got Cherise the Niece on hold at B&N for me to pick up tomorrow--thanks for the rec! It looks like fun, and can sit on my bookshelf next to my collection of Charles Addams cartoons.

They prolly make a beach version of Scrabble.

Heh. Yeah, I have travel scrabble, but two scrabble dates in a row? That's kinda obsessive.

They were here for four hours, but they fixed everything that needed fixing, so I'm not going to complain.

Yay! Yay fixing things!!

Three will be more manageable...

For a second, VW, I read this as "THREE MORE", as in you'd have SEVEN dogs, and was like "OMG!"
