My sister is going to call me later tonight with more news. Dad has to decide what he wants to do about treatment. It started in his lungs (never smoked in his life) and them spread to his liver and brain.

Drew, that's what my grandfather had, and outside of his years in the Navy in WW2, he had never smoked either. But gramps was 90, so he felt like "somethin' was gonna get him" sooner or later. Totally different situation. I am just so sorry.

I have a whole rant about lung cancer research being seriously underfunded. It kills more people than any other cancer.
The American Cancer Society is really helpful. There's a lot of information on their site, and they offer local support services.

Drew, let me go into mommy mode here. Try and take care of yourself during this awful time. It is easy to fall prey to every bug that comes by when you are so emotionally depleted. As difficult as it is try and take time to get your rest and eat, and breathe.
