Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Good things that have happened today:

1) Found out that my antidepressant finally went generic, cutting my copay from $40 a month to $8 a month.

2) Tom got some good followup from a phone interview he had a week or so ago.

3) My last reimbursement check has come in.

4) It is my last day at work before VACATION!

Are you sure the new kitty isn't a Himalayan? They're Siamese-Persian crosses that look like long-hair Siamese. And a trip to have around the house!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Oh, poor kitty Josie. I'm sorry, GC. It's always so hard.

New kitty looks very cuddly and sweet. KITTEN! FUN!

Gah, just woke up. One of my ex-students texted me last night with what seemed to be a suicidal message (at 11:30) and I soent an hour trying to trace the number and calling and texting back frantically, trying to see who it was.

She finally called me back, and I spent an hour on the phone with her. Her cousin had been shot in a drive-by, and then people came to the hospital and tried to kill him. He was being transferred to a different hospital for safety, but he wasn't stable, and died.

She was with him (long complicated fucked up backstory here I will NOT detail, but it gave me a heart attack) that night. She's a good kid, and it was a mess.

What a tragic, fucked up, avoidable mess.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Oh, Erin, how sad. I am glad you could be there for her.

Aiyeee! I don't expect you'll be getting those kind of texts from your students at (I hope) your new school.

Oh, Erin, I'm sorry. She doesn't know me, but if you see her, give her a hug from me.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart
