I was decidedly unimpressed with the treacle pudding,
stares. stares some more.
...but, but...
No. I understand the individual words, and yet arranged thus they make no sense to me! For lo, it is hot stodgy sweet childhood comfort food, lurking beneath a blanket of custard...ah. Right. Okay. Apparently I have no perspective on this sort of thing, what with that whole comfort food/nostalgia malarky. Still, yay for baked beans and proper English Breakfasts!
...'kay, I've just been and wandered around the F2F thread looking for pictures and I am now Jealous Jealous Jealous. And giggling about the cries of "You changed your hair!"
Next year, as God The Cat Daniel is my witness!

Cripes! Happy Birthday, Teppy!
Happy Birthday Teppy!
ION - I can has kitteh! We think she's a girl, and we've named her Pete. I'm taking her to the vet in a couple of hours for her shots, and to do something about her fleas (she's from a farm litter). She also looks to have an infected eye. But hey! At least she's not drowned! Stupid farmers.
She's very smart - she figured out the litter tray with no help from us. She's also an explorer, and a climber.
Yay kitteh!
Awww! Kitty! I think we need pictures.
Okay, I've a very poor quality camera phone pic up on Facebook -

Aw, fuck!
"vegetable suet." Is that just shortening?
I think there is specially flavored "vegetable suet" that's shortening plus, mostly, more salt, but yes, you can use Crisco in place of suet most of the time. (I made spotted dick once with butter-flavored Crisco and it turned out just fine. Turns out that even though lard comes in giant tubs in any old corner bodega, for suet you must go to An Actual Butcher and order it in advance.)
