Hate to say it, but her response to your issues with pain during PIV make me not at all sad that she's not covered. (It's one of the things you're supposed to report to your doctor! Not one of the things where they say, "Oh, that happens.")

Yeah, I left my last GYN because her office staff was the worst. I swear one of her nurses basically told me that I had an irregular pap because I was a slut. Or she strongly implied I wouldn't have had a problem if I was in a monogamous relationship.
Hmmm, maybe I am missing something. I know Amanda at Pandagon missed the creepiness - which does not mean that isn't there, because she has her own issues, but helps keep from feeling a total idiot. Can you be more specific?

I'd be curious to hear Jen weigh in on this. When I dated a medical student in the eighties she said there were very judgmental attitudes about cervical cancer taught at the medical school. That it was seen as basically an STD. I wonder how much that attitude has changed.

I was so stunned and driving (I remember EXACTLY where I was) and it was the first irregular one I'd had so confused and scared also so I didn't end up doing anything. Except change doctors when I had a chance to.

Well, basically the irregular pap is generally (I'm pretty sure) caused by HPV so it is an indication of a venereal disease. A venereal disease that something like 80% of sexually active adults have been exposed to. But, still, she was a total bitch.
I like the whole package at my current GYN's office.
