So was there some kind of massive anti-sleep zone over the US last night? Nobody in this household got more than 4 hours last night. (Due to an error in judgment regarding the A/C on my part - I thought it was supposed to cool down much more than it did, so D's room was much warmer than I thought it was going to be. Long story short, we cleaned up vomit at midnight and spent the rest of the night trying to convince him to sleep in the playard in our room. Finally fell more or less asleep at 3, woke up with the sun at 6.)

Then took the poor tired noodle to his 12-month checkup, and now he's at daycare while I'm playing hooky from work and running errands. Checkup went fine - he's still bizarrely tall and skinny (15th %ile for weight, 75th for height - WTF, genetics?) but otherwise completely normal. (And the doc wasn't worried about his stats at all since he's pretty much always been in that range, I just don't understand how two people shaped like DH and I wound up with a tall skinny kid. He's just a freak of nature, I guess.)

But like Ginger says, there are really good drugs now that can make HIV an almost completely manageable chronic illness.

And I do really know this. It's just having lost people in the late 80s and 90s gives me a bit of a jolt.

Well, Evite does have the "allow guests to invite guests" function - I just forgot to turn it off. Still, it's polite to ASK.

Oh! You just reminded me -- I was going to ask if anyone had any experience with socializr.com, because my evite hatred level finally hit the "but I don't wanna" point (for a whole lot of CHEESY little SPAMMY annoying CAN'T EXPORT YOUR ADDRESS BOOK reasons, not this). And I was noticing after Vortex's ordeal that one of the nice details over there is that you can allow people to add on, but cap the number each one can add, and all suchlike things.

And I'm extra-pissed she didn't ask me first. She should know better.

She should. Regardless of electronic invite technology.

Perhaps the first rule of technology should be, just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Apparently I stole this. Because I got a new alarm clock, and woke up slightly before it went off, to go "hrm, what time did I set it for, anyway?"

And then I woke up a little after it was suppose to go off, to go "Er, clearly something went wrong there..."

And then I woke up a LOT after it was supposed to go off, to go "Aww, crud"

(Luckily, although I have a lot of stuff to do today, none of it was "must do at X o'clock", which was part of why I did not have a backup alarm set, but still! I did not expect to oversleep the alarm by TWO HOURS)
