Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Thank goodness your good deed went unpunished. Mostly.

They were sweet (well, the dog was; the lizard was freaky in that penetrating-stare kind of way they have, and the kitty was a freak in that Siamese way), but we just SO didn't have the room. But I hugged and kissed the dog goodbye, and said goodbye to the cat and lizard (they were already in their carriers), and it's all good.

Bed for me in just a few. I feel like I'm getting away with something by going to bed before 11:00.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Crappity.

We've got a nasty storm system about to start its way through here, and Daniel has to drive home through it. Also, I'm sure it won't be dissipating before getting to the Wisconsin border.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

I finally made it to the end of the thread! Hooray!

I'm exhausted for the wacky storm knocked our power out until 8 am this morning. No, it did not alleviate the awful heat that was already in the house. No, there was no breeze to at least move the stifling air around. Yes, I am consuming electrolytes today. You know it's unbearably hot when the cats give you that "it's too hot don't try to pet me just move the hand away now" vibe. I will say Thank God for ipods and the ability to run on battery, for I would have gone out of my mind.

ION, I am eating cherries aifg! Plus I finally got some payment from my personal Voldemort and now I can pay my bills and taxes and buy a working computer! I ran 4 miles today in the park, passing an ex something or other I haven't seen in 5 years and he didn't seem to recognize me. I'm grateful because that is NOT a can of worms I need to even come near opening back up or whatever, but I was kind of amused for some reason.

Daisy, I'm really sorry your friend got bad health news. It's been shitty for you lately and I hope things get better. Steph and Nora, hope your abdominal regions give you a break and are easily treatable. Yay for vw and CBD guy! Yay for Dad of Tea on royal recognition.

brillig

in Provo right now! Hi, connie! What a beautiful town! Surrounded by mountains. Lots of kids and very white

Hi, Stephanie! How kind are the eyes of strangers, but yes, the mountains are glorious, and they've still got snow on them--probably getting more this week. And yes, the people are as white as the snow.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Wow - I totally thought that you'd end up with Petpocalypse, Tep! Delighted to hear that it's all panned out okay after all!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Steph, you're probably asleep but I just wanted to say that since I began using the Mirena I've noticed more painful cramping at ovulation than at my "period."

There are thirty openings at the kindergarten level for the best schools. There are only going to be five or six openings at those schools at the first grade level, because the kindergarten kids move up and the only slots open are from kids who move away.

Not to stress you out, but just something to factor in.

Well the school that had 80 lottery openings and 1600 applicants for kinder? Basically told me my lottery placement is for shit, so I can keep calling and they'll just keep telling me no. Next year I'll try again and yes, Franny's chances will be worse but there's nothing I can do about that. But the plus side is that many of the interesting looking magnets are 1-5 not K-5, so we might have better luck in a different school.

The other local school lotteries are for "extra" spaces after the neighborhood students fill the district, so while they have 60 or 80 spaces available kindergarten, for permit kids like Franny, they have something between none and maybe 10. One school told me they had none last year, another told me they had two. So I'm not counting on getting in. But my MiL wants to move closer to us anyway so we may have her help getting Franny in the next year.

Hrm.

Just got an email from one of the kings I met in Vancouver in October. Sweetie from Houston, who granted I haven't talked to since then really. All "ack, last minute housing fell through for this conference in Seattle, any chance my coworker and I can crash on your floor Friday night??" and I was all set to be like "Of course!" when I noticed it wasn't for her JOB (which is for Planned Parenthood) but for...Landmark. Um, ew? (Keep in mind she's like, 23, so the last minute and crashing on floor is so not as ridic as it would be in a 30 year old)

I guess just for Friday night it's fine anyway, they'll be up and out early, right? Landmark makes them go examine themselves early, right?

I was so much more excited when I thought they'd be in my town to Do Good Works...
