Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Way in which I was described over the weekend:

"This is my friend Aimee from high school. She's a gay man in a woman's body."

I cracked up. Mostly cause it's true.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh, ow, Windi! And also? Ew.

Congrats to dad of BT and to the bravery of driving-training wallybee! And welcome to all new members of the House of Tea.

Ginger, that print is...artful. I love that you give framed art as presents (I treasure mine!).

One of my duties in my erstwhile office was to open and process mail. In the course of that endeavor, I happened across many an art print in miniature form, which I duly then made a copy of any text on the back of the print itself, and garnered the print for my own. Many friends, relatives, and co-workers recieved miniature framed art, for the new baby's room, for that awkward wall corner that needed "something", for that spot on the kitchen backsplash, or the final piece to make up a grouping for a larger wall.

My framers loved me, couldn't wait to see what I'd bring in next, and outdid themselves with double matting and geometric cutouts to set off the print. 'Twas fun. I kind of miss it.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Please do! However, I am not to be blamed if you wind up at the divey gay bar singing with a dude in a Haiwiian shirt and a wig and making out with the bartender. You have been warned.

starts pricing flight to Dallas.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Congrats to your dad, BT! Cool beans.

I think I'd trade any of you the 80/90 degree weather for the rain we've been having. 29 counties under states of emergency for flooding. And rain predicted for all of this week. Ugh.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

starts pricing flight to Dallas.

Awesome!

Librarian Warlord

I just found out that Tim will be in town for a thing

I tried to convince my DH that we should make the yearly trip to Dallas the weekend this was happening, but it didn't work with his schedule.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I love that you give framed art as presents (I treasure mine!).

Me, too! Liv's got a great print from Ginger hanging over her bed. I should really take a picture of it. And Owen's got a wonderful Noah's Ark print (I'm at a loss at to which buffista sent it) which we got framed and looks awesome.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Victor, you are indeed a little hottie. You look good either way, but I'm gonna shock myself and say I prefer the facial hair.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I am not allowed out on my own again after this weekend. I am trouble.

But you're still allowed out with me, correct? I'm trouble too. Perhaps we cancel each other out.

Speaking of people visiting me. Maria! I just found out that Tim will be in town for a thing while you are here. Comic book boyfriend and I are going, you want we should include you in our plans?

Yesyesyesyes. Erm, I probably should ask, "When?" first.

edit: Google is my friend. Damn, I don't get in to DFW until quarter of two. Bummed now.

Congratulations to your father, billytea! That's quite the honor.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Please do! However, I am not to be blamed if you wind up at the divey gay bar singing with a dude in a Haiwiian shirt and a wig and making out with the bartender. You have been warned.

But DJ! I thought I was going to have new experiences in Dallas!!

starts pricing flights to Dallas anyway...

(My weekend was one of those where I ended up air-guitaring with the bartender in the Iron Maiden shirt and making out with the wee gay boys in a bar that allows smoking.)
