but I have a feeling off-the-rack Fredericks of Hollywood does not approach the kind of quality you gals are talking about
Nah, though I have one of that sort too, which is very pretty. we're generally talking about the sort with metal in it, which is strong enough to really hold you in and change your shape, which means that the fabric used does NOT have lycra in it (which would defeat the point). Unlike those "bustiers" or "corsets" you often see. These are more old school.
These are more old school.
And awesome. But yeah, definitely not stretchy.
I've read comments that the Fredericks "corsets" aren't really up to much in the way of, um, containment.
The dress I have with a corset top has a zipper down the front, which means I can get myself out of it easily (although I require help getting laced into it).

well, isn't easy getting out the important part?
skim skim skim as I announce BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE news.
It appears my current benefits at soon to be old job end Aug 31st. Early predictions put health benefits at new job starting Sept 1st. THAT MEANS NO COBRA PAYMENTS! Yipee!!!
bounce Bounce BOUNCE
BOUNCE!
omnis, I'd sign up anyway. If your benefits at the new place have a hitch, you don't want to be caught without coverage. You can always cancel the COBRA.

Yeah, but doesn't have a certain amount of time to sign up after benefits end? So, if there was a problem, he could retroactively choose it?
You can sign up for the COBRA something like 58 days in arrears, though (i.e., until October 20-something in o_a's case) and have it take effect retroactively. So as long as you double and triple check the effective dates to make sure you don't drop a ball, you probably don't need to.
Yeah, I thought you had a 30 day window to sign up for it and it will retroactively kick in.
