'Out Of Gas'

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

he got promoted to lieutenant colonel today and I am super proud of him
Awesome! That's a bird on his shoulder now, right? Congrats!

I moved a lot as a kid, but all in the same area. But nowhere is a "I want to go back to there for it is 'home'" kind of way. I'm a NY'er by birth, but, as of this year, I've spent more of my life outside of NY then in it. I have learned to make "home" where your stuff is. I've had places that were more comfortable as such, but no place that was mine. I suspect when I have either a wife or a mortgage, things will change. In the meantime, home is where ya hang your hat.

Speaking of homes...

BWAH! Delicate NorCal flowers unite!! (Perhaps we should plan something, hrm?)
Ahem. Um. Well. SoCal transplant will be there by November. If something is being planned...?

ND and Sean: Sorry for setting a trend.
That's right! Don't blame me, blame MM! All his fault. There. No more mad at BC!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Omnis if your ears are ringing Mom and I are emailing back and forth about what a great guy you are.

question for people who have been to the Museum of Jurassic Technology:

Is it an all-day thing or should we plan to include another activity?

It's a few hours, but nowhere near all day, even if you work at it. But give yourself at least two to four hours to really enjoy it.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Hell, omnis, when you get here, I'll make plans to show you around.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

MJT is pretty small, I'd say about 2 hours. But there's lots of good food nearby if you need something else to fill the day.

A few hours. Depends on how much you read all the cards... and in the case of this museum, re-read all the cards.

Hell, omnis, when you get here, I'll make plans to show you around.
Sweet!

I hadn't realized it was in Culver City. Empanadas are definitely in order.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Daisy Jane (and Omnis--if you're going to be in Dallas at the end of the month), I will be in Dallas for a conference June 22d through the 26th. Most of the day Sunday and Monday evening look to be free. I'm staying at the Hilton Anatole, and there's no guarantee I'm going to have wheels. DJ, if you think it would be easier, I can make a business case for renting a car.

Congratulations to Lt. Col. Joe, USA and Stephanie! That's fabulous news!

Home is where my family is. My parents moved into their house 5 days after I was born, and still live there. My childhood room is still intact and ready for me anytime I choose to visit. It's still home. Our place in Italy is home, too. And finally, the house that DH and I bought is home, although it's taken some time for it to feel that way. It finally clicked when we painted two months ago, but now it's the first place that comes to mind when I think of "home."

edit: Laga, I hope the assholes are gone soon, and with a minimum of drama.
