Why do you suppose it is different this time, Megan?

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Home - North Beach is definitely home. It's felt more home-like on its own merits than anywhere I have lived, ever. People-wise, a large part of "home" for me is still in Minneapolis. Even though my mom is still in AK, I don't think I've considered that "home" since I was 13 and started travelling on my own. I kind of carry my "home" in my head, but also here, on the board. I know I could go to New York or Dallas or Chicago or Seattle tomorrow and have it feel like home, because I'd be with my tribe.
Louisiana will always be home to me. Anywhere else is just where I live.
juliana! I was just talking about you last night! We have decided that you have to come visit so we can take you for food, drinks and drag shows.

I approve of this plan!!! Except now we need to wait until to the heat goes away so I don't die.
Why do you suppose it is different this time, Megan?
Well, it's partly that I haven't had a housemate for a long time, but a lot of it is the fact that I moved into a furnished/established household. Since college, I have prided myself in being able to create a homey atmosphere, even when I lived in a (basically) unfurnished teeny studio in the East Village. And now I feel more like an interloper. Of course, it doesn't help that I really don't like the furnishings in my current place.
So, November then?
DJ, my friend Heide lives in Houston and we're JUST NOW in IMs about my visiting, and it sounds just like your and Juliana's conversation.
Heide: come visit!
Me: it's hot. I'll see you in November.

Oh, now that's understandable. Are you stuck there?

BWAH! Delicate NorCal flowers unite!! (Perhaps we should plan something, hrm?)
Oh, now that's understandable. Are you stuck there?
Only in the sense that I can't afford to move right now.

So, no lease keeping you there? That's good.
