We're still working on a plan, but so far it involves being sent to prison and becoming somebody's bitch.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

WHY am I not more organized?!
You keep getting distracted by the shiny?

t runs away really fast

Does gmail have a "recall message" function?
Alas, no. But moms worry. It's part of the job. Maybe you should just take deep breaths and distract yourself with pictures of pretty men and women?

My kind of cool news is that I found out today that I am going to be the New Faculty Coordinator for my school starting in the 2008-2009 school year! I'm extremely excited as it is both a big step for me professionally and something I'm really going to enjoy.

The only reason it isn't really cool news is that I'm not being offered a stipend OR class reduction for this time-consuming job. The school's budget got slashed (thanks, Bush), and the new HoS sees me as an "apprentice" this coming year under the previous NFC (who is now the MS director), K, rather than the main coordinator. K says that she thinks that's ridiculous and that, as far as she's concerned, I'm the NFC and she is just around for extra support. She also says that I will almost definitely be able to get either a class reduction or a stipend next year if I can be a good little solider for a year and become the full NFC in 2009-2010. It's worth it, but I wish they'd offer me at least something--hell, even a $500 stipend would be a recognition of the fact that this is an important, and difficult, job.

But still...my first official leadership position! Shiny!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

sadly "James McAvoy naked" does not yield the google search results I desired. Mostly Mr Tumnus.

If you follow an imaginary line from the R in public radio to where it would intersect with an imaginary line drawn from the U in Russell Kirt, that's where me and Butch used to hang out when I needed to be alone with his dogness. Sometimes there was an egret, and there were almost always dragon flies. I don't think I realized it was supposed to be a nature preserve back then.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Congrats Kristin! Where do you teach again, or do you prefer not to say?

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

You keep getting distracted by the shiny?

Heh. You're not wrong, and yes, Annabel gets the ability to get lost in the turnings of her own brain from both sides.

Actually, I've been doing pretty well this week. Every day since Tuesday I've been spending 15-20 minutes decluttering our living area and enough time in the basement to go through one box. After that, I come up and write three pages on the WIP. And that's all. I stop, even if I've got energy for more. The house is a mess, but every day there's more visible floor and table surface. I now know three boxes the Important Document is not in. And I'm still on pace for my current writing goal, which is to reach p. 400 of the WIP by 6/18.

If I keep this up for another two weeks, I might actually have...good habits. And maybe then I'll start applying them to eating well and exercising.

Our wings are not tired.

Kristin, that is fantastic news. I know you've been wanting increased responsibility and recognition, so this is headed in the right direction fer shur! Wish they'd give you more money right off the bat, but I can offer you a drinks on me the next time I see you! It's not a stipend, but it's a...drink!

And after today's meandering around Santiago, I might be the first person in recorded history who declares herself a bigger fan of Santiago than of Buenos Aires. The weather had a lot to do with it; it's right after a rain here, so the skies are blue and clear. Buenos Aires was worse then Beijing in air quality, and that's saying something. And in Santiago, when you turn a corner around a basilica or a Cafe Caribe, there's the impossibly big and beautiful Andes! Jesus they're gorgeous. Reminds me of Lucerne, the way they loom magnificently over the city.

Burrell, I don't want to say on the board, but I would be happy to email it to you. Profile addy good? You don't have a profile addy, looks like, but feel free to email me at mine if you're curious.

I won't argue with that! And honestly, I'm just excited about just getting the job regardless of compensation. Also, your trip sounds like it's been just amazing. I can't wait to hear all about it next time we get together.

How odd, I guess the board reset also reset my profile to an earlier version. I just changed it to include my email.
