Yet another administrative note: StuntHusband is leaving the game, which means we have an opening for a replacement Ellen. I've put out a couple of feelers, but I'll ask here too - are there any lurkers who'd like to take on the role for what's left of the game?
I'll keep the game going until such time as we'd need a decision from Ellen, then we'll see where we stand with a replacement.
Considering it seems like we've had at least one player feel alienated/get pissed off in every game so far (though not necessarily to this degree), I have to wonder if there needs to be a change to our approach to the game, though I don't know what that change would be. I think there's always going to be at least bit of tension in a game with paranoia as a major element, especially when you're interacting with cold text instead of face-to-face.
In any case, if anyone feels like I've treated them unfairly, or behaved like a dick, I'd like to extend my apologies to them as well. I know some of my posts have been a little on the "enthusiastic" side. I'll try to rein that in a bit in the future.
Off the game for a moment, I found a website that presents the results of a D&D competition. The brief is to re-envision the owlbear. Some interesting outcomes: [link]

Yep. Told ya.
Well, I hope Starbuck isn't a cylon.

on the pilot and scout, scout like the wind.

I know what it's like for everyone to think you're a cylon when you're not (and I'm about to find out again) but I really don't understand what happened with StuntHusband. Treachery and accusations are part of the game. Helo played it really well. In the past players have expressed their frustrations. This seemed really sudden. I'm not sure what we could have done differently.
So yeah you guys? Still not a cylon. I'm not sure how I can re-prove my loyalties. I'll tell you, I wasn't able to stay up to get my new loyalty card so I went to bed thinking about what I would do when I got the one that said "You are a cylon" and I figured I would reveal on my next turn. I'm hoping when that doesn't happen y'all will trust me again. The bad news is that someone else
is
a tin can.

Play it cool, tin can. They probably won't survive the next jump anyway. And say thanks for that Treachery card I just gave you.
(NOT OUT LOUD.)

I really don't either. I was faced with a very similar situation in having to justify my choice of Destination card, and I was also threatened with an airlocking. Maybe tensions were higher in this last confrontation, but, as Kalshane said, this is a game about paranoia and treachery. I'm kind of surprised because StuntHusband played more in-character than anyone, so I figured he wasn't taking anything personally.

Has cylon technology reprogrammed my brain? I don't remember this in the game I played or ran (the last two).
I remember one person leaving in the first game I played. I get hurt feelings
a lot
but I repeat to myself 'it's just a game; I should really just relax' and they go away sooner or later. The roleplay really helps me to not take it all too seriously. (I don't always participate because I often feel I'm not as clever as you guys).
That said, if anyone can offer up concrete suggestions for how we can make our games more fun for everyone I will make an effort to change my behavior.
Would it be helpful to be more clear when we're talking as/to players as opposed to characters? Like:
BSG Character
What the hell, Kat?? You are a terrible pilot. Can't even shoot down a simple Raider. WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM.
BSG Player
Die roll's a bitch, huh?
But, really, whenever I posted, I felt like I was sort of a hybrid. Except when it was just silly nonsense that wasn't related to the game proper.
Somewhere along the line we decided to put character dialogue in italics but I keep forgetting.
