GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Can I just say how frustrating it is, as a Cylon, when there's that much Green among Team Human? "Yes, they finally failed a check! Crap. Someone played a DE. Yes, we got them this time! Frak, another DE!" Way to break a homocidal robot's heart.

Actually, I can't recall if we ever got you guys to fail a check you were actually attempting to pass.

I know we failed at least one pre-Sleeper check where Starbuck had offered help, and then played no cards, shortly before we realized she was a Cylon.

I felt for you turning Cylon like that. You'd made such an effort for us in the first half.

I realize it would be impossible (or at least incredibly messy) to do logistically, but my one real complaint about the game rules is that I wish there was some way loyalty cards were setup with "You are human" and "You may be a Cylon." and everyone gets more loyalty cards, but it takes two "You may be a Cylon" cards to actually be a Cylon. That way it's a bit less of a shock in the sleeper phase.

I realize, the game rules suggest that even human players shouldn't do their absolute best pre-sleeper phase, in case they become a Cylon, but I don't really like the idea of the humans intentionally handicapping themselves "just in case."

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Heh. Unrevealed Cylons hate Yellow (ICs), revealed Cylons hate Green.

Especially annoying if, say, the humans reach the Sleeper Phase at 6 Distance, or you become a Cylon by the other Cylon giving you their extra card. (I've seen some cases where that seemed driven more by spite than by strategy.) It's still better than the Sympathiser joining the Cylons though. They don't even get a Super Crisis card, and can't activate the Cylon Fleet.

I realize, the game rules suggest that even human players shouldn't do their absolute best pre-sleeper phase, in case they become a Cylon, but I don't really like the idea of the humans intentionally handicapping themselves "just in case."

Yeah, for Boomer it makes some sense - she has a bonus chance to turn - and in this game, I actually did just that, choosing the worse of two Destinations just in case I wound up on the other side. But on the whole I don't favour handicapping myself like that. If I've an 80% chance of staying human, I'll generally play to that chance.

One thing you can do before the break, though, is simply play conservatively. Build up your resources, keep a reserve of one or two good cards. It's less a handicap than an investment - your reserves will still be useful post-Sleeper, no matter which team you wind up on.

Update on Pegasus so far! I have three players who've put their hands up:

Laga
-t
StuntHusband

We still have at least three open places. If you're interested, let me know. The Airlock awaits!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I just heard D cursing from the other room. He says one of his random teammates in Modern Warfare 2 just unlocked everything. He says it's permanent but I figured it was worth asking, is there enything he try do to undo this?

I'm sure the unknown teammate is gloating, thinking he did everyone a favor, but D hates cheats.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Pete got Little Big Planet 2 today. There are levels that are steampunky bakeries. Gears and wrought iron and giant cupcakes and tea cups. It just needs some bats and vampires, and it would be straight out of my brain. So cute!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I'm in. Also, my brother suggests, as an alternative to New Caprica, playing a 10 distance game with +2 fuel (starting with 10).

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I am addicted to lurking during your BSG games, but I've never played the board game and don't always follow, so I think it's too complicated for me. I'll keep watching, try and get hold of the game (if I can find someone to play it with me!) and maybe play here next time.

We're up to five players so far:

Laga
-t
Kalshane
StuntHusband
Polter Cow

I'll leave it open until the weekend to see if anyone else wants in.

I liked megan's idea for character selection, so we'll try a preference system for this one too. Once I've sent out the list of available characters, if the players can send me their top four or five preferences, I'll do the character choice from them. Two principles:

1. It has to be a legitimate crew
2. I'll try to give everyone a choice as close to the top of their list as possible.

I'm thinking I'm interested in playing this round.

Well then, I'm thinking we'd be happy to include you.
