You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

The last BSG game I played on boardgamegeek was a gambling game. The moderator got everyone to stump up 2 geekgold; the pot was split evenly by the winning team (which I was on, so I won myself a shiny new geekgold). He used it as a mechanism to ensure people who signed up were engaged and willing to check in regularly.

Oh! And tomorrow is Melbourne Cup Day, Australia's premier horse race. I get the day off, because Melbourne understands priorities. (I drew a horse from Hong Kong in the office sweeps, which seems appropriate.)

Clearly we must fear the prospect of you turning Cylon, for we shall be unable to penetrate your dastardly wiles in games of deceit.

It's so weird not having BSG emails in my inbox.

Anyone for Mario Kart?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I played Betrayal at House on the Hill for the first time last night. It was pretty fun, although we got an unusual scenario that had no traitor. At least not officially. The house was carried off by a giant bird, and we all had to go find parachutes, except there were only three parachutes for the six of us, and one of the players had collected so many items and omens that he could easily kill everyone else. Which is what he did. One person managed to withstand his attack, and I killed her afterward, which made me his first victim since she was his girlfriend. Because his knowledge and sanity were so low, it was actually easier for him to win the game by killing everyone than by using the parachute.

move out and draw fire

Whoa, that's a weird one.

We played it a couple weeks ago, with Mal. (so 3 adults and a 5 year old). Mal did fine until the Haunt started; at that point his father left the room and I started reading our text, which said that a giant tentacle had grabbed R and pulled him away, and that he'd be attacking us with tentacles.

Mal started crying. He was so into it he totally believed that R's body was in the other room sprouting killer cthuloid tentacles. Parenting FAIL.

It's a good game, though, as long as you have the errata printed out.

My friends have the new edition that incorporates said errata. It seems like a fun game that's different every time, unless you get the same Haunt again, I guess.

Good lord. I just looked at the BSG spreadsheets for the first time.

I think they scare me more than the idea of Meg Whitman as governor.
