re: billy's spider link (which I did not click on)

Hubby wanted me to say that when he lived in Hawaii in the 70s, his mother once thought a spider on the wall was a clock. Hubby was also once caught in a spider web that was strung between two banana trees. He was 11 at the time, but still.

edit: I also just handed him the rest of my dinner, because his glee in telling the tale made me lose my appetite.

For this, Jilli really is the voice of reason, more so than normal. And thusly, I stand with her (even though she is cringing with my English/grammar/spelling skills)

He was able to get himself free, but the degree of effort involved freaked him out.

Jilli, I've pointed out to Hubby that his Boy's Own Tale of Adventure has succeeded in freaking out people in several time zones. He's now trying to back pedal by saying it's worth it to go to Hawaii because of the ferns "but beware of the pigs."

I'm not asking.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Yep, the freaky big spiders are generally tropical beasties. And can have a legspan that would cover a dinner plate.

See, I like spiders when they DON'T COME FROM THE FREAKY CONTINENT OF FREAKY FREAKASSED FREAK SPIDERS.

I feel maligned. We're also the freaky continent of freaky freakarsed freak snakes, lizards, monotremes, marsupials, and flightless birds: [link]

(This one's ok, Jilli!)
