I would say aim for the 6 difficulty to avoid sending yet another person to Sickbay, but worry less about the morale.

I am not so worried about going to sickbay. I had been thinking of moving to Galactica on this turn anyway. Hopefully, either Chief or Zarek can XO me by the time my turn comes around again.

or
If player X & Y play this number of cards, I play that.
