The Admiral chooses between 2 cards. There is a quorum card that you could play that has another player choose between 3, but if you don't have that one, I'd say jump early and take our chances. Also that will get Tigh out of sickbay.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

It says, "choose specialist"... may I choose myself?

Intriguing. I checked the card in my set and it says to give it to "any other player." Unless there is another card I haven't thought of, I'd say that since it's not an action it doesn't really matter who you give it to, but, to stick to the letter of the card, I'd choose either Chief or me.

I'm happy with either waiting to jump or not, but I'd like to have the other two (humans) weigh in on the options.

toast

and I doubt we'll be hearing from them after midnight on a Sunday. I have a busy day tomorrow but I'll try to check in frequently so we can reach a consensus before I decide what to do on my turn.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

That's correct, you can give it to any player other than the President himself. (Pick me! Pick me!) You could give it to the Admiral if you wanted.

It doesn't really matter now everyone's loyalties are known if Zarek were the mission specialist, but may as well keep things on the up. (Plus, it gives one of the other players something else to do.)

Jumping instead of drawing an extra destination card?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I was thinking of assigning Helo as mission specialist so we could jump next turn but I realize you'd have to discard to move to Galactica. If you can XO Tigh it might be better if he's the specialist since he'd get his full card draw on his turn, too.

(iow, I'm in favor of assigning a specialist, but I will xo Tigh now with a request to move to FTL and jump us if that's the consensus)

I think the card just assigns who picks when we do jump, so it doesn't really have to do with whose turn it is. That is, you draw cards and then assign the Specialist card to someone for whether we jump in one, two, three, or more turns. It just means that the Admiral doesn't pick two as usual.

That being said, I really am torn as to what is better.

1) If we jump now, we have a slim chance of being able to jump again before the cylon turns, but that would assume drawing only jump icons (hence the "slim" chance given that jump icons are maybe slightly more than 50% of the deck). But we'd likely lose 1 pop.

2) Waiting means a better chance to go the distance we need and also means that it's likely either we'll jump automatically, or more stuff will get dumped on the board and we can ditch that too. It also means you draw extra cards, which is nice.

Note: I can XO Tigh to FTL on my turn. So, even if we wait and don't get a jump icon on your turn, we certainly could do that on my turn.

I guess flight instinct is telling me to jump, but the smart money might be on waiting.
