All are welcome to chime in, talk about their favorite games or learn about gaming of any sort.

My plan is to play two food rationing cards but even with SP they're a 50/50 shot at +1 food. Is it possible there's a quorum card still in the deck that will be better for us?
Not that I can think of offhand. There are ones to increase morale, of course. There's that one that destroys ships/centurions, but there's nothing on the board now.

D is playing a war game on his PS3 and I can hear one of the other players getting chewed out by his mother for not cleaning the bathroom.
Almost makes up for the brats kicking your ass and laughing at how much you suck.
D was certainly enjoying it. She went on for a good three minutes.
Surprised she didn't turn off the game. My Atari sure got turned off like that a LOT as a kid.

Just to clarify, it can be used pretty freely, but it takes an action to do so. Zarek can use it for his action on hie turn or when receiving an XO; he couldn't use it for an interrupt, say, right after drawing a Food Shortage.

I have e-mailed Zarek his Quorum Card draw. To keep things rolling, I am going with what Zarek said upthread, he indicated playing Food Rationing. That involves a die roll, if we roll a 6-8, we add 1 food resource.
Helo left some CO's to play a P3 to help with the die roll. Random die roll generates a 1 . We add 2 to that with the P3, and that gives us 3 . I am afraid that was not enough to meet the threshold of 6. So there is no effect. Thankfully it didn't cost anything.
That ends action one for the Presidents XO.
