Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Okay, I sort of fell down the rabbit hole about Portal. I didn't even know the game HAD a director's commentary.

And I'd always wondered about the name "Chell."

So I found this and his related articles very interesting: [link]

Oh, wow, those are really interesting! And it definitely makes me think about the game in a new way. Cool.

I have CO's from Helo! (gives stink eye to all those I *DON'T* have CO's from). Seems Helo has a bit of a crush on Boomer, and really wants to spring her from the pokie.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

t swoons
t guards move Boomer to a padded cell to reduce swoon-related injuries

Let me finish this. It's very likely I'd just have to discard this card anyway.

Let's just say my options were limited.

If you get sprung won't we have a crisis card? That could also use up cards.

We will indeed (hopefully with a jump icon). There's a fair chance I'll be able to play more cards (or have to discard); but there are also a lot of Crisis Cards that don't involve skill checks, or that have a skill check but with only YG positive.

On the assumption that we pass this from here (i.e. that no one spikes it), allow me to recommend:

1. If we get a skill check with Purple, Red and/or Blue positive (especially more than one of them), by all means leave some work for me. My cards are not as mighty as I'd like, but they are numerous.

2. If we get a crisis card with a discard option (like the Food or Water Shortages), I can discard cheaply.

I play no cards.

I hear Boomer's got people slipping her booze in the brig, so she's gettin' none of mine! ((Or rather, I know she said she got it, and I know she has to discard anyway, so.))

Obligatory!Ellen: That's not "booze" I'm hearing about, dear.

Wow, amazing how that works. That equals a perfect 5 out of 5. (Hmm, that sounds like something from Buffy, not BSG... eh... bygones)

That means Boomer is FREE!!!!! So, Ms Boomer. Where would you like to go. IIRC you get to chose where on the board you move.

When I get home I'll draw the next crisis card.

“Lieutenant! The Admiral’s given the order, you’re to be released. He wants you back on duty immediately.”

“Finally! I knew he wouldn’t want to keep me locked up forever, he’s not that bad really when you get to—”

“Uh, well… Actually, I think he was pretty keen to leave you here. He took a lot of persuading, and, uh, he asked me to give you this message. He— I hope you don’t mind, he told me I had to repeat this word for word. …”

“Ok, so what is it? …Come on, I know the Admiral, I’ve heard it all before.”

“Yes Lieutenant. Well, he told me to tell you, ‘We’re frakking well putting a lot of trust in your frakking ‘Friendly Cylon’ ass. You frakking well better not frak this up, or I’ll have you back in this frakking cell before you can turn around, and I won’t give a frak if you never leave.”

“Yep. Sounds like the Admiral.”

“He also ordered me to tell you to, ah, stop fra— Um, fraternising… so much… with Chief Tyrol. Says it’s bad for Morale.”

“He knew about that? Aw, jeez. Why doesn’t he just leave me here then, if I’m so much trouble?”

“I think Helo had a lot to do with it. He’s been talking to the press, he sort of told them you were in here. He was pretty flattering about you. The Quorum started asking if we were taking the Cylon threat seriously, given we felt able to keep good pilots locked up. Well, the Admiral didn’t want to let on that not only had a Cylon managed to join Galactica’s crew, but was trying to defect. At least this way saves him from explaining anything.”

“Yep. Definitely sounds like the Admiral. But, uh— not that I’m not grateful, but why would the Quorum take such an interest in me?”

“But that’s why the Admiral wants you back on duty right away! We’re under heavy attack by the Cylons!”

“They’re back? Then I’ve got no choice. I’ve got to punch these new robots until they blow up! Ensign, fetch me my tightest clothes!”

I move to Command
