Okay. Drew and I have talked about FG a bit more, and while it's clear that modding the program to actually handle a full rules set for something like Shadowrun or Serenity, the die rolling functions, character chat and map/graphic sharing functions will all still work fine for what we might need.
There's supposedly some generic blank character sheet mods out there, which would allow us to use online character sheets (we'd be stuck using paper copies otherwise). I found one, but even after joining the forum in which it was posted, the board wasn't allowing me to download it. So, I'll keep working on that.
In the mean time, I have an idea for an SR4 campaign. I know Joe has been longing to play, as much as we might want to get back to the exploits of the crew of Valley Girl.
Which brings me to my next point -- there are maybe one or two people we forgot in our calculations -- E and possibly T. T I'm less concerned about, but I'd love to get E in on it.
But! As I said, I have a Lite FG2 license on my old XP machine that I think I can uninstall and use for a machine for E. He knows Fantasy Grounds. He's been using FG with his other gaming group, and I'm pretty sure he has at least one Lite license, but I don't know if he has one on a portable machine. On the other hand, he might, so that may be problem solved.
Anyway, this is to say I'll be working on statting up the first adventure, and we should maybe start talking backchannel about character ideas.
And actually, since I'm organizing an RPG online with other Buffistas, consider this an open invitation to anyone else interested in playing Shadowrun 4 with us (Drew, Kristin, MM, omnis and myself, along with possibly another friend of ours). You'll need a Windows computer and a Fantasy Grounds 2 Lite license, but the invitation has been issued.
I ... I played a video game last night.
Between this and the fact that you were quite good at Burnout when we played it at my place in Burbank a few years back I'm beginning to think you might be good at these games.

I'd be interested, but for the time difference.
but for the time difference.
Indeed. I'd adore having you in the game, but yes, the time difference would be a beast. But if ever for any reason it looks like you might be available to play at whatever o'clock in the whatever it turns out to be in antipodean time, you're still invited.
That'd be good. I feel we might have better luck with one-offs.
In the past we've had to deal with plenty of folks that can't be there every single time so I'd think we'd be able to accommodate some schedule wonkiness.
Also, Drew, Kristin, MM and omnis have all been invited to join a yahoo group for the game. It's an invite only group, so check your inboxes.
I decided against using our old LA Crusaders google group, since it's really become unsuitable for our current game planning needs, and I wanted a new group to cover only the invited people.
BT, I'll invite you too, if you like, but for now, I figured keeping you abreast of the planned sessions in this here thread will do just as well.

That's cool, I wouldn't mind keeping abreast. I'm still on the mailing list for the Yahoo group of my old gaming group in Philly.
You've just been invited, BT.

I appreciate the sentiment, but this would be fairly systemic schedule wonkiness.
