I was thinking sometime in the next 48-72 hours. The first step is picking characters, so we likely won't get the action underway for a little while yet. (You're all welcome to send me a list of preferences if you want.)
I heartily recommend getting a copy of the game, but it's not necessary to start off.

Time to get this show on the road. We have five players, I've randomly assigned turn order. I'll post a message in Press too; if anyone wants to sign up before everyone's chosen characters, I'll slot them in the sixth spot.
The player order is:
omnis_audis
Kalshane
Sean K
NoiseDesign

Our first stage is character selection. Everyone, in the order listed above, please post your choice of character. This is being conducted via the procedure on page 5 of the rules, which means, for instance, if omnis chooses a military leader, no one else may choose a military leader until there's at least one politician and pilot on the crew.
In addition: everyone except the first player (i.e. everyone except omnis) also draws three cards from their usual skill set. When you choose your character, let me know which colours you would like to draw as well.
A reminder: conditional orders make the game flow smoothly. You can send me COs for pretty much anything. This means, too, that if it's not yet your turn to choose a character, you can send me a preference list, as long or as short as you want.
