PANDEMIC
I have replaced my motherboard and am back in action.
The researcher will kill a cube worth of zombies in Algiers, move to Madrid, burn her Madrid card to move to Hong Kong, and hand over Chennai to the QS.
After doing this the researcher, draws Karachi (Black) and... an epidemic.
The Blue Fever hits San Francisco hard, putting it on the brink.
I should pause here in case we want to use an event card.

PANDEMIC
Since we have a couple of places on the brink, and the Medic is somewhat limited as to what they can get to in the upcoming turn, I'm inclined to use Forecast. That way we can frontload Shanghai, delay potential hits to SF and Mumbai until the Medic/QS can reach them, and/or see what else is coming up and act accordingly. Then we will have the Ops Ex turn to take care of anything leftover that we know isn't in the next few draws.
PANDEMIC
I particularly like the idea of frontloading Shanghai (if that proves possible). I feel Forecast is possibly better to play on an earlier epidemic like this one, while we're still drawing two infection cards per turn; we can set up three turns this way rather than just two.
And on another topic, Black card! I'll be set up for the Black cure as soon as I can get to a research station.
PANDEMIC
I'm good for this plan, although as someone who doesn't have the physical game, can someone summarize Forecast for me?
PANDEMIC
Forecast allows you to see the next 6 cards in the infection deck and reorder them as you see fit. So, if you play it after the first or second epidemic, you are seeing which cities will get hit with the next three draws but control the order. After the third or fourth epidemic, since you draw three on each turn, you only control two draws. Like bt, I prefer to use it early for that reason. Also, I generally play it first, and then see whether it might make sense to play 1) One Quiet Night after one of the turns to delay the inevitable, or 2) Airlift to move the QS to prevent a hit that very turn.
ETA: As an example, if we saw that Shanghai was in the group of six, we would arrange to have it hit first since the QS is already there protecting it. If SF or Mumbai is there, we would put it last to give us time to get either the Medic of QS there beforehand.
PANDEMIC
I am also in favor of using forecast. Since it is the QS's card I will let the QS have the final say.

I have seen the future and it is...
San Francisco
London
Algiers
Baghdad
Shanghai
Chicago
I'm thinking Shanghai and London to the top and San Francisco to the bottom. Not sure about the others.
PANDEMIC
How about:
Shanghai
London
Chicago
Algiers
San Francisco
Baghdad
Chicago's not much of a worry and we'll have a cure soon. Algiers is more accessible than Baghdad, so let's have Baghdad last.
Sound good?
