PANDEMIC
(recap...)
The Medic takes a train to Montreal. Then charters a flight on Gulfstream G650ER to Beijing. Then he goes on a voyage of curing all the way to Taipei.
Next, he draws Lima, and an event... Forecast!
Meanwhile zombies go crazy in Cairo putting it on the brink, and the red death re-appears in Shanghai and spreads in Tokyo (curse you red death! - The red death is personal for the Medic)
The Situation:

PANDEMIC
My thought is that the Dispatcher can move the Cairo, kill one cube worth of zombies, then move to Baghdad and bamf the Scientist there (remembering that Jakarta is the new Cairo).

Agreed. And then we just have to wait out the Researcher's turn. Fingers crossed for Mumbai.

Sure, put it all on the giant nerd.
Fingers crossed for Mumbai.
Never fear! Mumbai has done been Resiliated! This is my new role, the Resiliator.
PANDEMIC, not
PANDEMIC
Man, you never know what you're gonna learn when you wake up in the morning.
Hah!
I feel pretty stupid to be sure, but it has been great training I suppose. In any case, I look forward to a new easier world of Pandemic now that I've reset the options. Let's see if the CP rises in my esteem!
Because right now I would say most characters are good to have, although replaceable, but I never miss the CP if I don't have them.
Note: After the first few games, I've mostly been playing games with a random selection of 4 characters in random turn order. So, at this point, I've seen lots of different combinations. I definitely have preferences, but most characters can be paired off in successful either/or combinations (in that, if I don't have one I want the other).
Top choice would always be Medic/Quarantine Specialist. I really miss them if I don't get them, and if I don't get either then I truly despair for the fate of the world.
Next slot would be probably be the movers and shakers, i.e., Dispatcher/Operations Expert. Operations Expert is particularly good early on, especially if they go first.
Then right below that are the cure facilitators, Researcher/Scientist. For me, these are more in the nice-to-have category only because they are far more card dependent than the others.
Still it should be noted that, despite the above, the team that has most crushed this game for me so far was the four women. However, the card draw on that one was incredible. I think there were only 5 or 6 cubes on the board when I cured the fourth disease; the other three were already eradicated.
In any case, I say thank you and simultaneously shake my fist at Gud for introducing this game here. I am now thoroughly addicted.

OK, I'm confused. Don't I need to get her BOTH my Black cards?

OK, I'm confused. Don't I need to get her BOTH my Black cards?
Since we are near the end, we are ignoring that we accidentally used my Cairo card to get to Jakarta instead of the Jakarta card last round. So I have 3 black in hand. So, the computer won't think we've won, but WE WILL KNOW.
PANDEMIC
Oh, somehow I thought that was one black card for another, not black for red.
In that case, I will:
Move to Cairo
Spray for zombies once
Move to Baghdad
Dispatch the Orient Express to bring the Scientist to Baghdad
Show em if you got em!
PANDEMIC
The Dispatcher talks a pilot into a ride on an ancient Lisunov Li-2 to Cairo, uses anti-zombie sprayâ„¢ to take the edge off the zombie hoards, then hitches a ride in an Egyptian Army Mil-26 helicopter to Baghdad, once there she remotely arranges for the Scientist to take the Orient Express to Baghdad.
The Dispatcher then draws Chicago (Blue) and Moscow (Black) and needs to discard a card. (Currently has Chicago and Paris (Blue), Buenos Aires and Miami (Yellow), Bagndad and Chennai and Moscow (Black), and Sydney (Red))
PANDEMIC
I fear I've lost my interest in beachfront property.
Discard Sydney.
