I've sent enough emails that I'm worried I'm moving into annoying territory.

Gaming 1: You are likely to be eaten by a grue
A thread for the discussion of games: board, LARP, MMORPG, video, tabletop RPG, game theory etc. etc. and all attendant news, developments and ancillary subjects thereof, as well as coordinating/scheduling games either online or IRL. All are welcome to chime in, talk about their favorite games or learn about gaming of any sort.
PLEASE TO WHITEFONT SPOILERS for video games, RPG modules or anything for which foreknowledge of events might lessen one's enjoyment of whatever gaming experience.
maybe try breaking the tasks into smaller items, and giving deadlines for each. "Let's have character concepts by the 3rd; class/race/alignment by the 10th; backstory by the 17th, so we can roll for traits on the 24th"
Or whatever (I've never GM's).

Thanks. I just sent a "Please give me Class, Race and reason for being in the starting town before next Friday" and already got one response. Currently engaged in some back and forth with the player to flesh out his background. So that's a huge improvement over the last few weeks.
No problem. It's how I handle the students. Big tasks get postponed, smaller tasks are easier to accomplish, and they do.
Cool! I'm definitely feeling an ebb and flow when it comes to group enthusiasm and participation. Although we have rotating DMs, characters, and campaigns with the goal of playing every week, sometimes we have to take a week or two off because we can't get enough people together.
Is anybody playing MMOs besides me? I Just had a supremely frustrating run where I was trying to tank but DPS kept running ahead and pulling huge mobs. I finally quit out of frustration. Sometimes I wonder why anyone has the mettle to tank as their main class.
Well, I got one response so far, but no others, though I did give them until Friday. We'll see what happens.
Never got into MMOs. I tried both WoW and D&D Online and they didn't really draw me in.
Anyone into the Civilization series of games? I'm downloading Civ 6 right now (2 hours!), and I thought it would be fun to compare notes, if anyone was.
Oddly enough I've been playing Civ IV today, aifg. I don't have Civ VI. Does Civ VI require a Steam account to play? IIRC, Civ V did, and got rid of my copy it as soon as I saw that it required me to sign up.
I have Civ IV & V, on steam on my Mac. I have the Xbox one for my old 360, but haven't played that in ages, and the iOS app, which is kind of a lite version of the game. Let me know how VI is. I usually wait until prices drop before buying.
