A thread for the discussion of games: board, LARP, MMORPG, video, tabletop RPG, game theory etc. etc. and all attendant news, developments and ancillary subjects thereof, as well as coordinating/scheduling games either online or IRL. All are welcome to chime in, talk about their favorite games or learn about gaming of any sort.
PLEASE TO WHITEFONT SPOILERS for video games, RPG modules or anything for which foreknowledge of events might lessen one's enjoyment of whatever gaming experience.
One might think people's interest was piqued. One might even think that people would like to see Daybreaky elements in the next game of BSG.
It will take me a little while to add the Daybreak materials to my game files, but once that's done, who's in for the next game? I propose to include all the following:
- All the standard elements from the base game and the Pegasus, Exodus and Daybreak expansions. This means that you will now have 33 characters to choose from, including Cylon leaders.
- Conflicted Loyalties from the Exodus expansion.
- There'll be a couple of new mechanisms (mutiny and miracles, most notably) to work out, so I will exclude New Caprica, the Cylon Fleet and the Ionian Nebula.
- If the number of players would call for a Sympathiser, we'll use the Mutineer instead.
- We will use the Daybreak Treachery rather than the Pegasus Treachery.
- I strongly recommend that someone play a Cylon leader, because Motives. (We will use Motives.)
This is all up for discussion, of course. So! Anyone with an interest in the next outing, let me know:
1. That you're interested.
2. Anything I should know about your availability.
3. Whether the proposed game elements work for you, or if you'd like to make some changes.
4. Your vote in the vexing question of what we should call New Baltar. Your options are:

Progress report: I've finished updating my reference file and the game record template. There's still the formatting file to go.
We have six places filled. We can go up to seven players, so there's room for one more. I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of people. Once I get yeas or nays, we can get the first airing of Daybreak underway.

So here's the thing, I have now prepared ALL THE FILES, which means that we're kind of ready to go. I have one more invitation out, to Liese, but I think she might still be on tour, I haven't seen her checking in since maybe August.

Within the next 24 hours, you can expect to get the game files and a turn order, and then we will be underway.

Ok! Let's get this underway. I have generated a random order for our six players. (If anyone else wants to join in before character selection is completed, I will slot them into seventh place.)
With six players, we have the option of a Cylon leader. I recommend someone take this up, both because we have four new Cylon leaders to choose from and because there's a new mechanism for Cylon leader victory, the motive cards. I think it's an improvement over the previous agenda cards (without having tried them out, though).
If no one takes up the Cylon leader option (or if we get seven players), we will have six (erstwhile human) players. In that case we will use the Mutineer loyalty card.
Time to choose. Game files are going out now, including the list of available characters. If you want to choose one of Apollo, Baltar, Helo or Zarek, don't forget to specify whether you want Classic Coke or New Coke. Our player order is:
