Yeah, we may regret this when we get attacked and run out of Vipers, but we can Repair the damage with two cards as opposed to all the cards we'd use to pass the check. I'd rather save those cards for something more dire.

OK. This looks to be more of a Military decision. But as President, I just want to understand. We want to damage almost 1/3 of our Viper reserves to save a few cards. Given the notion, that Chief can do it in 2 cards. Well. I'd say a) Given that Chief is no longer on Galactica, he'd have to burn one to go and repair the vipers. So that's 3 cards. And b) what if Chief gets sent to sickbay in the mean time? You never know when those pesky Cylons are going to drop in, and fire on us.
I hear what you are saying. But. I disagree. But being a Politician, and not a Military person, I will defer to the Admiral's wishes. But let it be known, I have grave reservations. I hope I'm wrong on this one. But purposfully damaging 1/3 of our Viper fleet. Seems dangerous.
