Meanwhile, some other notes.
The Admiral of the fleet is Admiral Karl "Helo" Agathon, who will start the game with two nukes.
The President is Dr Gaius "Space Weasel" Baltar, who will start the game with one Quorum card.
We have six players and no Cylon leader; we will therefore play with the official No Sympathiser variant. In this variant, resources start lower than usual; and revealed Cylons may draw one additional card on their turn.
Finally, as we are playing with the Ionian Nebula, there are currently three Allies - actually, you know what? They may be Allies, or they may choose to jerk you around. Let's call them NPCs instead. There are three NPCs on board, in various locations. At game start, you discover the following personages:
- Brendan "Hot Dog" Costanza in Weapons Control.
- Louanne "Kat" Katraine on the Hangar Deck.
- Romo Lampkin in the Brig.
BSG President Baltar
Who was Romo? And why do I feel I will meet him first? Just remember folks, to brig me is TREASON!!
(starting smack and haven't gotten loyalty cards yet! Ha!!)

Romo Lampkin in the Brig
Pffffft. Bwahahaha!
I'd love to know the story behind THAT.
Also, if an NPC starts in one of our starting positions, does that count as "encountering" them?

Mr Lampkin is of course free to come and go; however, this is where he meets most of his clientele.

No; only if you're still there after your own Movement Phase. For instance, if Starbuck moves away from the Hangar Deck on her turn, she won't encounter Kat. If she stays there (for instance if she wants to activate the Hangar Deck to launch in a viper), then she will.
Who was Romo?
Romo was Mark Sheppard. Apollo's lawyer. He had a cat. For some reason.

Also, ND is our only pilot. Well, maybe somebody will get executed....
BSG (Helo)
I'm a pilot, right?
edit: also,, since I start on the bench, does that mean I don't get a starting draw?

No, you still get a starting draw, and a regular draw on your first turn. You just don't get a move and action. (On which note, what colours would you like for your starting draw?)
