OK, I'll make you a pupil. Sarcastica's a crappy fighter anyway.

ETA Curses! Site is down again.

Oh well, back to World of Goo.

Okay people who are bored at work, but may be looking for a more advanced time waster....

Who here likes Risk? Well, there's a web site called Conquer Club [link] that has a whole bunch of different Risk boards available.

The free membership allows you to play in up to four games at a time, allows you a somewhat limited selection of boards to play from, and you cannot create password protected private games.

The premium membership costs $25 for a year, allows you access to the entire selection of boards, and allows you to play in up to 20 games at a time.

I have not succumbed to the premium membership yet, only because even $25 is kind of a lot to ask right now, but I'd like to purchase one soon.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Sean, do not, under any circumstance, let ND get a membership. Apparently playing strategy games with him is even more frustrating than playing against him in driving games. (Then again, you're a pretty crafty guy, so you probably wouldn't get your ass handed to you as would happen to me. Nonetheless, fair warning!)

Is ND a Risk guy? Now, if it were Trivial Pursuit...

ETA: Finally got my hands on Zombie Fluxx. Yay!

I've showed him the site once or twice, but he hasn't taken the bait yet. Posting about it here is the next tug on the reel.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Who here likes Risk?

I'm not much of a fan of Risk. There are far better strategy games out there. (To be fair, I hear Risk 2210 is a definite improvement.) Nexus Ops is one that carries a bit of a Risk feel without the imbalance. (For multiplayer wargaming, I'm of the opinion that nothing beats Diplomacy. All the simplicity of a knife edge. But it's too cutthroat for a lot of people.)

On the two-player front, one wargame that Wallybee enjoys is Battlelore. It uses the same mechanism (cards control your unit ordering options, custom dice for combat resolution) as Command & Colors: Ancients and Memoir '44, but has a somewhat lighter feel, having a fantasy theme. It didn't receive the support from Days of Wonder, but I understand Fantasy Flight Games has bought the rights. Hopefully they'll promote it better, they do great Ameritrash gaming. (The Battlestar Galactica boardgame is one of theirs, as is Fury of Dracula.)

Another card-driven strategy game well worth the look is Twilight Struggle, which covers the Cold War. It rates extremely highly on boardgamegeek, and deservedly so. (The cards give a great flavour to the game.)

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

This [link] is to a whole bunch of movies about the cast of the game. They're great and have only gotten better with each release. The Heavy was the first one released and is probably the first to watch. Just make sure you watch The Spy last. You really want to build up to that one.
Cute. Pyro & Medic were greyed out. The shorts have a look/sound that reminds me of the THE INCREDIBLES.

I beat Peeeeeev (how ever many E's are in that name): [link] My level 5 beat your 8! Ya, like I had anything to do with it. But still, after all your smack talk. HA!

But then death spigot walked away without a scratch: [link]

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

The videos have been released sporadically over the last two years. The medic & pyro ones haven't been released yet.

The look of the videos is the exact look of the game.

My level 5 beat your 8!

Sigh. Yup, Peeeeeev has had a bad couple of days and has barely won a thing. Still, doesn't help that he did his 60 damge-dealing killer move on your dog, instead of you!

Grr.

One of my other brutes, Ill Omen took you on too and lost at the very last second. You should watch that one. It's amazing. [link]
