I hate Apples to Apples. Subjective games and me are definitely non-mixy things.

megan, I used to feel exactly the same way about Apples to Apples.

I don't know why I turned around on it. Really, I haven't. I still think it's arbitrary to the point of wondering, "why someone needed to pay money for the set and does this even really count as a game?" I've just found a place where I can shut the hell up and enjoy myself along with everybody else.

Which is NOT to say you should too! It actually makes me happy to know that you're stronger than I am, and still able to hold on to that refusal to acknowledge Apples to Apples counts as a game.

Now that my apartment is more in order, I need to start thinking about having a game night.
I'll bring the chips!

I wouldn't say it's not a game, I just have no interest in playing it. The idea that one person, or the group, is deciding arbitrarily what the "right" answer is kills me. See also, Imaginiff...

It bugs me too.

Fluxx moves too fast. Not in a bad way, but the German side of me that likes order and rules gets a little flummoxed playing it. It won't keep me from playing, mind you. Just messes with my head.

Fluxx makes the baby Jesus cry. In a really, really fun way.

There was a brief period last night in one of our Zombie Fluxx games where it was actually impossible for anyone to win. The winning conditions required someone to have something that another rule was preventing anyone from owning.

I think my head just exploded.

I didn't even like the concept of expansion sets for MtG.
