Um, I'll need an XO before my turn, so I can draw full compliment of cards. Sad to say, at this point, I can't repair anything. I suppose I could go to Research try and draw a repair card. But then I wouldn't be able to actually do anything. Ugg! I feel useless!!

Holy Frak! Bust out the stems, we have a LOT of work to do people! Let's get the ideas flowing, and work as a team. We need to come up with a plan, and hit it!
I do not know what is on those civvies, but right now, we are a couple basestar activations away from space dust. We need to repair Big G, we need to kill off the intruders, and we need to knock out those basestars. Unless those civvies have fuel, I think they are low priority right now.
Please, debate me, tell me I'm wrong. But let's come up with a plan! We are getting PUMMELED out there! I'm up for a frakkin' Purple Heart! And we are dangerously close to dying before sleeper phase!

It's not that dire. There are, like, three more targets on Galactica, and you might just lose Fuel or Food with some hits, I believe.
Not to say you aren't doomed, but not quite that quickly.
