Eh, you can probably live without Food. It's not like there will be any other Crisis Cards that target Food, right? This is definitely the only one.
There are a total of three crisis cards (out of thirty) in the New Caprica deck that threaten food. With this crisis, you have seen two of them.
Meanwhile, Apollo also votes to tank, and so it is. Destiny reveals:

Tally: 1 - 1 = 0. Fail. Food drops by 1; a new Centurion appears at the Occupation Authority.
