Details of the destination have been sent out. Apollo, this card places a viper in Sector 5 and Sector 6. Do you wish to use your ability to commandeer one of them and take an action?
Another consequence of this destination is that the crisis deck is reshuffled. This is now done.
BSG (Apollo)
I'm going to
commandeer a viper
and use
Full Throttle
to move to Sector 2 and go after Scar.
BSG
Which viper would you like, the one from Sector 5 or from Sector 6?
Full Throttle
allows Apollo to get off one shot at Scar. The roll may be modified by an SP. Everyone, please pass or play.
BSG (President)
I
Play SP-3
In hopes that our valiant hero, Apollo, can vanquish the evil Scar!!!
BSG (Kat)
So has there been a ruling that Scar can be destroyed on a modified roll? I think before billytea had said it must be a natural 7+.
Because if the stars are right, I might be able to Hotshot his ass.

I was going off his post:

So I played!

That was how I initially read it, but we've had a ruling from FFG that the roll may indeed be modified.
Because if the stars are right, I might be able to Hotshot his ass.
On the other hand, I don't think you can do this.
Scar
states that he can only be killed o na die roll, and Kat's ability says she can discard
instead
of a die roll.
Let's see if Apollo's lightning responses pay off:
Die roll: 1 + 2 = 3. Miss.
A shame, because that was a totally sweet move.
That, finally, concludes Tory's turn. Gaeta has opted to draw 1Y/G for his variable draw. Mr Gaeta, when you're ready, please post your move and action.

So an XO to Apollo would not be prudent, but I recommend an XO to Adama instead. BLOW SCAR OUT OF THE SKY!
