A thread for the discussion of games: board, LARP, MMORPG, video, tabletop RPG, game theory etc. etc. and all attendant news, developments and ancillary subjects thereof, as well as coordinating/scheduling games either online or IRL. All are welcome to chime in, talk about their favorite games or learn about gaming of any sort.
PLEASE TO WHITEFONT SPOILERS for video games, RPG modules or anything for which foreknowledge of events might lessen one's enjoyment of whatever gaming experience.
I'm actually pretty impressed that the module can offer so many different play experiences.
That is cool, actually. I want to see if Team Human can beat New Caprica! Of course, watch it happen when I'm a Cylon.
in a pivotal move, Tigh escapes the Brig, and restores the Presidency to Roslin.
Oh right! Tigh, I blame you.
Finally, I'm interested to know how you all (Chris in particular) found the Cylon leader experience. Interesting? Didn't really have much impact? A bit isolating?
It was kind of weird since Six was basically playing as human the whole time, so we just thought of her as another human against Team Cylon. But we also considered her a Cylon and not exactly One of Us because, in reality, there was no telling when she might do something bad. It was like she was a hidden Cylon, but we knew what her Loyalty card said.
Oh right! Tigh, I blame you.
I blame me too. I am the goat.
edit: I enjoyed playing with a cylon leader. It added nuance to my paranoia.

It's that time again, to start prepping for game 13. The current score sits at Cylons 9, humans 3. Who's ready to try and beat the odds? If you're interested, just post or email me. Let me know too when you'd be ready to start. As always, we welcome anyone interested, whether newbie or veteran.
New Caprica taunts the humans still, with the three games so far all ending in a Cylon victory. I propose that game 13 will head there again. We can play with a Cylon leader again if we have six or seven players and the crew is in favour.
Let's start filling up those spots.

I'll probably have to sit out this next one unless we start after the 15th.
Playing with a Cylon Leader was certainly a change- I like the edge of uncertainty for the game but it seems like playing the cylon leader is trickier than playing a human or cylon. What's it like not having a team, chrismg? (autocorrect wants to call you charisma, btw)
That was a very fun game, but I think I'm going to stay on the sidelines for the next one. Unless I have had enough of resting up before it starts and decide to jump in again, I can't rule that out. Game time decision, as they say. But I don't have any input on timing or rules to offer.
This was a good distraction, and helped remind me there is more to life then work. So, count me in.
(Helps that I won...with the excellent help of my Manchurian Candidate!)
(good thing I proof read, especially on the iPad..."count me in" said something quite different. Whoa!)
If anyone hasn't played and is thinking about playing I say go for it!
