Gaming 1: You are likely to be eaten by a grue
A thread for the discussion of games: board, LARP, MMORPG, video, tabletop RPG, game theory etc. etc. and all attendant news, developments and ancillary subjects thereof, as well as coordinating/scheduling games either online or IRL. All are welcome to chime in, talk about their favorite games or learn about gaming of any sort.

Trust Instincts is a neutral card. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. In this case, it didn't, BUT it saved us from getting that -9 on a check with actual fail consequences. As we learned last game, sometimes people play TI with the best of intentions, and it doesn't work out.
The real spike is the DE-3. Only Cally, Cain, or I could have played it. I did not, and I have my guess as to what Cally played based on her comment. Which, again, leaves Cain, who played 2 cards, one of which could have been positive to mask a spike. Still could be Cally, but I'm leaning more toward Cain at this point.
BSG (Helena)
Well I can say with certainty that it is not me. Feel free to airlock me if you think otherwise. Given that, it means that it's either you or Cally.
BSG (Tory)
Guess that means it's Cally! Cally, shoot yourself in the face, please.
BSG (Cain in the ass)
We can airlock her, or throw her in the brig. I, of course, lean towards the airlock.

It's probably a good time to remind people about the secrecy rules. (There've been no breaches, but while everyone's discussing the skill check, it's a good moment.) Players may not under any circumstances state what they played into a check. (Including, in this case, the Trust Instincts.) This includes commenting on the colour. You may, however, state that you are playing high or low into a check (and of course you can choose to lie or tell the truth as you see fit).
However, I would ask that you be more circumspect on commenting on your play
after
the fact, when all cards are visible. If (say) there's only one high card in the check, and a player claims to have played high, they're effectively identifying their play (or at least what they claim is their play) and that's a no-no. So, y'know, be careful.
Any questions or doubts, you can check with me.

Guess that means it's Cally! Cally, shoot yourself in the face, please.
Alas, Cally's OPG specifies that she can shoot
another
character, and so she cannot off herself. (In the game in which I played Cally, I was greatly disappointed to learn this, as I had constructed an elaborate plan that hinged on shooting myself in the face (IN THE FACE!).
BSG (Your Faithful President)
Cool it, Admiral Airlock, let's not jump the gun. Jury's still out on both of you, as far as I'm concerned.
BSG (Starbuck in the Slammer)
Yeesh! I am still in here and the air is rife with accusations! This is not going well.
Ok, well, I can't do anything else in here with no cards, so does anyone object to me trying again just to see if Destiny is kind? Nobody has to play if they don't want to, although of course I wouldn't object to help. I cannae save mysel at this point.
BSG (Dee in the Headlights)
Might as well try, I guess. I can even help a little, still.
BSG (Cally McBeal)
I'm looking at Cain or Tory. I haven't ruled out both of you being cylons.
If you're gonna try flying the coop again I can help a little, Starbuck.
