amych, in addition to being completely compiled out of awesome, is turning me towards this Fallout 3.
although this is interesting too (given that I have a wee EA wince-factor, this is not insubstantial): Left 4 Dead

Fallout 3 is definitely on my to get someday list. I figure it will also make me feel better about America after 8 years of Bush, it could be worse.
Hmm... that's an interesting marketing angle for Bush's inevitable attempts at a career rehab. "Yeah, he was bad, but at least he didn't leave Washington DC in a steaming pile of radioactive mutant-filled ruins!"
"Yeah, he was bad, but at least he didn't leave Washington DC in a steaming pile of radioactive mutant-filled ruins!"
I don't know. If I got the right mutations....
Some of the mutations are right handy, let me tell you.
(Seriously, the DC aspect of the game freaks me out more than a little, which is a testament to how well done it is -- and probably even more so because I grew up there and haven't been back often enough since; I don't have daily reality to check the game against, so instead I keep looking at my map and saying, "waitaminnit this is approximately MY NEIGHBORHOOD")
Topps announced today that they are killing WizKids. I suspect it has more to do with protecting their core business than that WizKids was losing money. Not that WK was doing gangbusters, but I don't think it was doing so bad that the whole thing needed to be folded up...
Proving that Sox and I share a brain, I was just looking at Left 4 Dead. It came up after I checked out the (fairly aweseome) trailer for CoD's zombie bonus level (Nacht der Untoten). Nazis + zombies = two great tastes that taste great together.
In Rock Band news, in addition to the geek music of Jonathan Coulton, RB2 comes with this song:
Speck -- Conventional Lover
Rock Band 2
Who left you hanging on that peg all alone
You look near mint to me babe and I wanna make you my own
I wanna be your captain, my Pon Farr is a-risin'
So step on over here girl, my love is enterprisin'
Let me be your conventional lover
Let me show you some conventional love
I don't mean to boast, I don't mean to brag (ooh love long and prosper)
But I'm a man whose only issues all come in mylar bags
Let me be your conventional lover
Let me give you my conventional love
I'll give you my heart, I'll treat you nice (ooh love long and prosper)
And the games that I play only have twenty-sided dice
They're polyhedral!
Let's hit the dealer's room and you something fine
That collectors bust of Cthulhu reminds me of how you blow my mind
Now let me take you dancing in my best Starfleet dress uniform
You'll want to tap my mana once you've seen me perform
REPEAT CHORUS
Uh oh... SAVING THROW!
in addition to the geek music of Jonathan Coulton
which it is not wise to sing unless you've at least read the lyrics through once.
there's a semi-spoiler video out for L4D, if anyone wants.
COULTON IN RB2!!!!!
I read about Coulton here whilst I was on the radio just now, I ended up telling everybody as I was so excited.
