At Half-Price Books, I just picked up a First-Edition Deities & Demigods. A real first edition - with the Cthulhu, Nehwon and Melnibone Mythos included. I paid six bucks.
That is an awesome deal. Still sorry I got rid of my copy. (I gave it to my younger brother, he gave it away at some point.) I loved the mosquito god.

That can change things for some characters. (For instance, there are fewer locations there, so Zarek's weakness can hurt more. Conversely, Boomer will get out of the Brig once you land there, so her weakness might hurt less.) Also note: the Admiral chooses when to end the game. That post is potentially more important.
