Apollo said with an XO he could maybe give Scar some grief. No promise of MF.
I forgot where I left my notes so I'm not sure how effective an XO to me would be at this point.
edit: hey found my notes. I, too am more useful for defense at this point.

Sorry mine's not at well formatted as da boss. I could take an XO to launch more vipers and/or activate the one on the board.
Without an XO jumping us early sounds good, or firing on Scar yourself.
BSG
I am in weapons, so an XO to me would be two shots at Scar. Launching vipers will take some time to get them around G and into place. Communications could move the RSV around a bit. Or an XO on Apollo, since he is in the same sector.
BSG
I can also scout the crisis (or destination) deck.

May I suggest holding off on jumping until I can assign a Mission Specialist?
speaking of Monopoly. The iPad version is on sale right now. $3.99. Dunno how good it is (yet). Looks like a bunch of the EA iOS games are on sale for "back to school".
update:
OK, so I downloaded it and played a 3 person game in less than 45 minutes. Can't do that in real life! It's not bad. Granted, I only played one game on easy (and won!). There are cute animations for the piece movement (that can be annoying in time, I suppose), but you can hit the button to skip ahead, or just turn them off all together. There is a table top version for multi-player games, all human, or mixed human/AI. You put the game in between four of you, and it is the game. No need to pass n play, as there is nothing hidden in Monopoly. And the action rotates for each player, so the iPad stays put. Pretty cool, if you ask me. Sure, it drains the battery, compared to the regular board top version. But hey, those family vacations, try packing Monopoly in the luggage! On the whole, I give it thumbs up.
(For the record, I have no affiliation with Hasbro or EA Games. I just like to play games)

I'm in favor of assigning a mission specialist so Anders, if you don't have an XO I suggest either drawing more cards or firing on Scar.
Well, we've observed another parenting milestone.
This past weekend, we started playing DragonLance with Mal.
Random is running it, and Mal and I are the only players. We're using a simplified ruleset (Castles and Crusades), and having a great time.
It's really stealth education (quick addition, rough probability, adding two-digit numbers together, vocabulary, action/consequence), but Mal doesn't know that.
I have to say, though, I think he could teach the Democrats a thing or two about how to negotiate. He's familiar with the first part of the story from watching the (gawdawful) animated movie, so we said "You can be whichever one of the heroes you want, or make your own character. You don't have to be one of the heroes like in the movie."
Mal, who had recently learned what a morningstar is, said "OK. I want to use a morningstar.
"And I want to use a shield.
"And I want to wear black armor."
At this point I stopped Random from taking notes and said "NO. You can't be Verminaard."
Yeah.
So then he says, "OK. What about...there's this girl, and she can do magic? I want to be her. She can turn into a dragon with FIVE HEADS!!!"
"No. You can't be Tiamat either."
