I'll ask here and not tech, as I think this group will know. On the back of the xbox360, next to the Ethernet port. What is that a connection for? Is it HDMI (he asks as he awaits the arrival of his 1st HDTV).

Does it say "HDMI" next to it?

Does it have a big connector and a small one, like in the picture I linked to, or just the big one?

actually, neither. Looking again, it might be a USB Connection. It's right over the ethernet jack, same width.

You can't tell the difference between a USB port and an HDMI port?

I do not believe you are actually omnis_audis. Who are you and what have you done with my friend?

I dunno what an HDMI looks like.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

If it's not an Xbox 360 Elite (newer, more expensive) it won't have HDMI. My Xbox has a USB connector just above the Ethernet jack. It's primary purpose is for connecting the Xbox Wifi adapter, which mounts on the back of the console. Older Xboxes use component input for HD, which works fine (mine gets 1080p).
