We're just starting to replenish our card supply, so I don't think we should be discarding five cards, but taking the Food hit will make it our lowest resource. I don't think Food comes up as often, though, so it could be okay.
Cally, unless you have three cards you think are discardable, I think we should take the Food hit.

Ouch! Discarding three cards would really handicap me since I don't have the option to play a single card into a check. After that big of a discard I'd be good to help in maybe one check.

I'm also pretty sure there's a Quorum card to increase our Food if we need it.
