really hope she means it's got something supernatural about it, because otherwise, eek.
Jonathan Livingston Teletubbie? (Are you even old enough to get that joke?)
Yeah, I remember that book.
Hmm is this legit? [link] Basically, they buy ISBNs in bulk for a buck each, and will assign one to you for $5 bucks. That does mean they are listed as the publisher with Bowker, but gives them no copyright in the book.
But is there another catch to this? I certainly don't begrudge them the $4 profit, because they are taking the risk of buying ISBNs a thousand or more at a time to get that low a rate. For a self-published low volume book I'm OK with a them being the official publisher on Bowker - again unless I'm overlooking something.
Here's a thing from Lawrence Block about making a living as a writer: [link]
Thanks, Jesse. I like him. He's so sensible.
IO9 just featured this [link] which is a tumblr that offers up ideas for use in science fiction (maybe fantasy too...I haven't read all the way through) stories, they just want a heads up if you use them.
They look oddly specific, and also a bit ESL. I'm not entirely sure why someone would do this. I mean, it's not like a random generator. Someone's sitting down and thinking these up.
Setting the ~ma free. Made it to the very last group, but no farther. Next time.
I'm trying to get my revisions done by the end of April. I'm not sure if I can make it or not, but it's my own artificial deadline. All the troll poems are gone now. Kinda sad, but it makes sense.
Save the troll poems for Extras on your website when you get published!
