I don't know if I'll do something with it or not, hence the password protected page. I'm not sure there's a short-story market for a parody of this type.
The Great Write Way, Act Three: Where's the gun?
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
That first story I submitted bounced back. I'm going to put it through an edit and send it somewhere else before I get too maudlin about it. I have another story out, and two getting close to heading that direction. Hoping something will make it past a slush pile sooner rather than later.
Hang in there Sox.
My short story won't likely be bounced for quite awhile. There's a long wait time where I sent it.
I'll admit I haven't been sending out queries on the novel. I'm not wanting to take the time to tweak up a new query letter when I'm rolling along so well on my current draft of Cog. I'm at 30,000 words and I'll be using the term 'steam-power gatling snow-cannon' at the end of the chapter I'm working on.
What Gud said, Sox. Send it off to the next name on the list.
Gud, it's excellent you're having so much fun with the new book.
Book ~ma, Barb!
Oh Sox-- at least it's just the first one. Like Gud and Amy said, send it off to the next one on the list. Lots of ~ma.
Yay on the new book, Gud!
And thanks for the ~ma. I'm trying not to stress and distracting myself by working on Dorian, which I'll admit, is ridiculously fun, to allow myself to go a good bit darker than I have in the past. I told another friend how much I was enjoying playing with some really dark stuff and her reply was, "You aren't really surprised by that, are you? You always, always go dark with your women's fic and it's what gets you in trouble because you tend to cross the lines."
So I'm a slow learner.
book!~ma Barb!
Thanks guys - I'm going to turn it right around, after an edit.

ok my chin didn't do the greatest job staying up, so I'm switching to wine.
Today I got word back that I didn't win the songwriting contest I'd entered months ago. Woes. But I entered it because every entry gets feedback, which I should get in the mail next month, so I'm trying to remember the contest itself was a longshot, and the goal was the feedback. Of course, if the feedback comes back entirely negative or a brushoff, then I shall lie on the floor and bemoan my fate.
it's nice down here.
