Oooh, Holli, I'd love to read some of it.
Gud, I'm waiting for ibuprofen to kick in before I read for you, but I will get to it today, I promise.
Typo, I edit ... sort of as I go? I don't have a real process, I guess. I tend to fiddle with whatever I've written the day before, as I'm writing, and by the time I turn it in, aside from any notes I've made while writing (as in, "Go back and seed X more clearly in the early chapters") I'm usually pretty happy with what I turn in as a first draft.
Then I get revision notes and work from those.
If you do join up, don't post all the chapters at once, dribble them in every other day or so. Every posted story has to be validated by a moderator (such as me) to make sure it's legit and doesn't violate the terms of the site owners.
I'm in no hurry, I just appreciate you reading that material at all. Thanks.
Amy, I forget-- are you on LJ? I can add you to my novel filter if you like.
Okay, I just friended you and added you to the filter. The first eight chapters are already up.
Excellent! Looking forward to it.
I'd be willing to pick at a chapter or two if you'd like (maybe more, but I have a lot going on right now so I can't make promises). Profile addy is good.
For those in the know, about how many queries is it reasonable to have in play at any one time? I don't want to overdo it, but I figure one at a time would be awfully slow, though maybe that's still best. 3 or 4?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm still learning about this stage of the process. Thanks.
Gud, I'm actually reading over your stuff right now, btw. And for queries, you need to make sure you're querying agents or houses who accept multiple submissions. Three or four at once is doable.
