My book review was accepted for publication! This, my first academic piece in a real journal, will probably be published in June. I am very pleased. Now to do something with the section of my dissertation that I want to try to publish. It's basically a lit review, which is boring in its current form. It makes good arguments from the literature it reviews, though, so it's worth me trying to find a way to keep it literature-focused. Hmm.

YAY, Seska!!!! Congrats, honey!
Whoot! for Seska.
Congrats Seska! Excellent Job!
Thanks all! I should be pleased, rather than immediately worrying about the next thing, right? :D
I'm doing that right now, aifg.
Be pleased, Seska! But looking forward is always a good thing, too.
I'm doing that right now, aifg.
Heh.
I think of those times as "Billy Walsh moments" after this screenwriter/director on "Entourage. Billy's mental, but most writers are a little like him in that we ping-pong between pride and self-loathing so frequently. Billy's an extreme case in that his poles are "The next Marty Scorcese" or "Writes shit unfit to be seen by humans" but, I think, on a smaller, less assy, level, we've been there.
I'm still pounding away at 48. I might already be done depending on where I want to break the chapter. I'm going to go to the end of the next scene and see if I want to break before it or after it. I'm 2,000 words into 48 and it seems like not a lot has happened, but I suppose there are two revelations and there's a bit of background about one of the newer character.
