“Not dead yet!”

I'm floating away like you would not believe. Lovely agent just forwarded me the official offer and there was this one line from the editor:

"My readers loved this and [publisher] thought it sounded very good. We’d like to build a relationship with her--I think she’d have a lot of freedom here too, to write what she wants to write."

OMG, that made me just absolutely tear up, because it's not that this editor likes this book-- she likes my WRITING and that is a gift above most others.

You know, I do too-- St. Martin's has always been a house I'd love to work with, for a lot of reasons, that being a major one. It's always seemed as if they're one of the houses who's always on the cutting edge and is less afraid of taking a risk.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Oh, Barb! That is fabulous!

“Not dead yet!”

Also? I am a HUGE dorkalopagus. I've got the Glee cast version of "Don't Stop Believin'" on replay and I'm singing along with a huge grin on my face.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I am so happy for you it's ridic!!!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Barb, I am so happy for and with you!
